Reclaimers Win State Competition

Oregon Institute of Technology’s team of three women engineers, The Reclaimers, won first place at the InventOR competition held at Portland State University.

The competed against 21 teams from colleges and universities across Oregon. They also won five out of the nine awards given, for total seed money winnings of $21,000 out of the $25k awarded.

The Oregon Tech students are Annika Andersen (Renewable Energy Engineering & Electrical Engineering), Ashlei Morgan (Mechanical Engineering) and Jessica Arrington (Mechanical Engineering). Jessica was also on OPB’s Think Out Loud this week talking about their invention, which is converting recycled plastic to crude oil.

They won first place in our Catalyze Klamath Falls as well.
