KRRC Dam Removal Presentation in Chiloquin on April 23rd

The Klamath River Renewal Corporation (KRRC) is hosting informational meetings on Klamath River dam removal in Chiloquin, and in the Northern California communities of Weitchpec, Hoopa, Klamath, Orleans and Happy Camp through April 24, according to a news release.

The Chiloquin meeting will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 23, in the Klamath Tribes Tribal Administration building, 501 Chiloquin Blvd.

Under the terms of the amended Klamath Hydroelectric Settlement Agreement, KRRC is charged with removing four PacifiCorp dams on the Klamath River including J.C. Boyle, Copco No. 1 & 2 and Iron Gate.

KRRC Community Liaison Dave Meurer will give a presentation on the project, including updates on the status of dam removal. A question and answer session will follow. Technical consultant Scott Wright of River Design Group and KRRC staff member Anna Murveit will also be in attendance. Light refreshments will be available as well as printed information about the project.
